Huber To Debut 23 New Granite Elite® Colors At Composites-Polycon 2007

ATLANTA, Sept. 27, 2007 – Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), part of J.M. Huber Corporation, today announced it will introduce 23 new Granite Elite® textured pigment colors for use in solid surface and cultured granite formulating.  The 23 new colors will be launched at Composites-Polycon 2007 Oct. 17-19 at the Tampa, Fla., Convention Center and introduced in the Granite Elite 2008 Series.  This addition to the Granite Elite palette will join over 60 other colors currently featured in four additional series.

Granite Elite is used primarily in the manufacture of non-gelcoated solid surfaces and gelcoated cultured granite.  A comprehensive palette of fashionable designer shades and custom colors offers the variety to fill a broad spectrum of custom applications.

Huber’s new Granite Elite 2008 Series joins the existing Commercial, Peak, Premium and Summit series, which offer excellent batch-to-batch color consistency; high chip density and definition; low resin demand with consistent resin/filler ratios; superior air release characteristics; fast wet-out in the mixing process; consistent gel/cure characteristics; and premixed ready-to-use formulations of high-quality pigmented polymer granules and ATH.

“Huber is extremely optimistic about the Granite Elite 2008 series, because these new 23 colors contain large chips, translucent chips as well as the chip-in-chip look,” said Don Mills, ATH director of sales.  “The palette is distinctive and imaginative, and we are delighted to introduce these colors to the marketplace.  Launching the 2008 Series at Composites-Polycon 2007 will give us lots of momentum with Granite Elite entering the new year.”

Also at Composites-Polycon 2007, Huber will showcase its SB, Micral® and Hymod® (surface modified) grades of ATH along with its Marble Elite® Alpha cultured marble filler and Hubercarb® ground calcium carbonate grades for bulk and sheet molding compounds and contact molding applications.

Huber’s booth #817 can be found at Composites-Polycon 2007 in the Tampa Convention Center where technical and sales representatives will be discussing Huber’s product options and sharing its technical service expertise.
