Huber Showcasing Its Authentic HuberCal® Oyster Shell Calcium Carbonate At SupplySide East

ATLANTA, March 18, 2010 – Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), a division of the J.M. Huber Corporation, will showcase its HuberCal® oyster shell calcium carbonate at this year’s SupplySide East (SSE) trade show (booth #1651, April 26-28, 2010, Meadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, N.J.).  HuberCal oyster shell calcium carbonate is used as the base material in nutritional supplement formulations and is available for the food, nutrition and pharmaceutical markets.

Huber sources its high purity, genuine oyster shells from a domestic supplier and the shells are harvested directly from undersea beds in the San Francisco Bay believed to be tens of thousands of years old.  The HuberCal authentic oyster shell granulations go through a thorough screening and testing process to ensure high quality formulations.  An exclusive double-wash technology ensures that impurities are removed from the raw oyster shells prior to processing.  HuberCal oyster shell products comply with California Proposition 65 standards for lead and offer the lowest levels of lead for genuine oyster shells.

While many calcium carbonate suppliers claim to offer genuine oyster shell ingredients, some simply offer naturally mined limestone powder or other types of shells.  Are you wondering whether your product uses authentic calcium carbonate from oyster shells?  If the oyster shell granulation is grey in color, you are most likely looking at genuine oyster shell supplied from Huber Health & Nutrition.  If the granulation is white, ask yourself this question:  "Have you ever seen a white oyster shell?"

In addition to featuring its HuberCal line of oyster shell products, Huber will also highlight its HuberCal natural pure calcium carbonate and other nutritional processing capabilities including fluid bed granulation, blending and packaging for a variety of vitamins, minerals and specialty products at the SupplySide East event.
